Your thoughts create a lot of trouble in your life; not because you are immersed with thoughts but because these are your thoughts. Every time the thoughts you are thinking become subjective, every time you believe you are thinking, chances are you will have a specific emotion with it, and that is where problems occur.
Emotions create attachment and reinforce the thought that reinforces the emotion, and the cycle never stops. At that moment your true self is gone, and you live in your mind’s jail. At that moment, you believe that your truth (your thought) is reality. From that standpoint, your behavior will always be destructive toward yourself or others.
We need to shift from personal thinking to universal thinking. We need to remember that nobody owns thoughts and that your thoughts are not real. When you detach the ego from the thought, when you realize that you are not thinking but are experiencing thoughts coming and going through you, then your emotions will not jump into your face and overwhelm you.
As soon as your thoughts become impersonal, your whole being expands; you are able to connect to your essence and the whole universe. It is truly a delicious experience.
In the world we live in, we have so many opportunities to get triggered, depressed, angry, or fearful. Throughout your day pause, witness your thinking, and remind yourself that these thoughts are not yours.
