Every time your mind gets attached to form, you lose your freedom. Every time your mind gets upset about an event, your whole being becoming rigid and fixated on a particular pattern. At that moment, you have lost your connection to your true self.
We need to practice shifting from form to formless if we want to be free. Form can show up in many ways: a couple of words, a sound you hear, a smell, an image, an interaction, a decision being made, etc. Whether you have a good or bad experience, every time you can’t let go of a situation, chances are you are not present; and from there, no kindness or respect can be expressed. At that moment, the only option is an emotional escalation and destruction becomes the answer.
To go from form to formless, go inward and connect to your inner experience. If something upsets you, go inward to experience the magnitude and the quality of your upset without looking for a cause (form). Stay within until you can detach from the trigger. Now you are free from your emotions and only then you can see clearly.
The mind makes us believe that if we are unhappy there is something wrong with us or with the outside world. It can be tempting to go with these thoughts and get stuck into form. Practice formlessness if you want to open the door to your true self. Every time you connect to your true self you are free.
