The act of service does not ask us to compromise who we are or what we need; it stretches us beyond what we believe we can.
Serving does not minimize us it expands us. When we serve, our idea of individuation morphs into a “we”, and we become one. The concept of my needs versus their needs does not exist anymore, we experience ourselves and life in a brand-new way. From there we realize that service is not just an exchange, it is a medicine for both parties if we approach it from a place of humility. Humility helps us to recalibrate and remember our true nature.
Service teaches us to let go of the constricted sense of self. The relational space becomes an opportunity for healing and letting go of our limited views of ourselves.
Let’s explore how much we can release old conceptions of self and open; let’s see how far we can stretch.
