If we want to experience peace in a chaotic world, we need to refine our relationship with ourselves. Self-care is led by a set of principles coming from knowledge, traditions, and science. Self-nourishment calls on the mother within and is led by generosity.
If you choose to be a nourishing mother to yourself, you take the time to listen without an agenda. Practicing self-nourishment is a creative process that does not necessarily follow a set of rules. Practicing self-nourishment requires you to go within, accepting who you are at that moment and giving yourself permission to create a life that feeds you deeply.
For example, if orange is your favorite color, you may want to surround yourself with it by painting a wall orange or buying orange pillows. Self-nourishment gives a voice to your sensitivity; self-care may give a voice to what other people suggest you do, or what you think you should do.
The road to self-nourishment and self-care is not necessarily comfortable. It will not take away pain you have carried for years, and it will not necessarily remove your struggles. It will generate more peace within you and less judgment about your own experience.
Self-nourishment teaches you to see who you truly are. From there you create a unique path to vibrancy.
What shifts could you make to nourish yourself?
With much love,
