Your ego-mind has been giving you false advertising for years and this is what it has been saying to you, more or less: “If you make this amount of money, if you have a good relationship, if you look a certain way, if you…., you will be able to relax and find peace.” Your ego-mind is not really interested in you; it does not even know who you are. Your ego mind is fueled by fear.
Every time we experience fear, we have lost our ability to listen and connect. Every time we have lost our ability to connect, we experience a deep sense of separation. We feel we are not fitting in; we don’t belong, we are different, and from that place, we trust less and fear more. Fear attracts fear.
Your ego-mind does not know peace. It has a story about peace that is conditional. Peace is an expression of the heart and asks for nothing. If you want more peace in your life do not focus on what you call positive things, give a voice to your ego-mind. Give a voice to the cacophony within you – but do not give it any power.
When we stop resisting, peace emerges.
