We all have had many teaching opportunities in our lives that ultimately reflect our capacity to learn and grow. We also all are able to teach and bring a spark of light into someone else journey if we choose to. Teaching is part of our human nature, and it happens through the heart center. If we bring the spirit of service to the core of our being, we become part of the lineage of teachers. It demands us to be fully present, compassionate, engaged, authentic, and open.
Yet, if we want to deepen our inner journey with self, we need a teacher. Without a relationship with a teacher, our quest is limited. When we study without a teacher, it becomes an intellectual experience not a whole being experience. A daily practice is what opens us up. The internet is not our teacher, and spiritual growth does not happen through reading books.
A good teacher stays humble and does his or her work with a teacher. Teachers are not better than us, they may not know more than us, yet they hold a unique place in our lives. In the relational field, there is an alchemical exchange of energy that will support our transformation and expand our consciousness. Only then the thinking mind can slow down and release little by little any attachments. When we stop learning and healing, we open the door for destruction. And as always, the choice is ours.
