Spiritual stability can’t be defined as fixed, unmovable, or predictable. The universe by essence is not stable: it expands and shifts. The ocean has tides, wind rain, and storms come and go, nature has a flow. Prana by essence is in constant motion. If we choose to be vibrant, we allow expansion and contraction and let parts of our lives sprout while others may die or fall apart. Life at its best is ever-changing.
To develop our spiritual stability, we need to embrace our impermanence and be aware of our lack of inner stability. We also need to commit to a spiritual practice without being attached to a specific outcome. If we wonder about the practice we have chosen and constantly surf the web or social media for a better option, we are not training our thinking mind to become a temple, we are feeding our mind to become a shopping mall.
Distractions are inherent to living on Earth, yet we have a choice. Without foundation, nothing can last. Creating a sacred space within us is what we aim for to allow ourselves to stay flexible, learn, grieve, and adapt to what unfolds. From there we can be a living tree, rooted within ourselves, breathing and exchanging, in tune with nature and the multiverse, open to the mystery we call living.
