In a culture that values speed in the activities of work, buying, healing, and traveling, patience is rarely welcomed. Yet without patience, there is no magic: no transformation, no shift in perspective, no profound insight, and no meaningful change.
Patience is not simply waiting for something to happen. It is a change in consciousness, a willingness to tune in rather than rush ahead. When this shift occurs, we are no longer bound by linear time, nor attached to specific outcomes. We become fully present.
In patience, we live in the now. When we choose to exist beyond the limits of conventional time, we begin to experience the infinite nature of ourselves and of life itself. We can move beyond the boundaries of linear time while still embracing the realities of everyday life.
Only through this shift in perspective can we experience true freedom. Only then can we fully awaken our senses and feel the vastness and interconnectedness of everything around us.
Patience also invites us to honor the laws of nature. Laboratories and chemical fertilizers may force a plant to grow quickly but at what cost? Impatience while driving makes us dangerous. Impatience in healing makes us resistant to the very process we seek to accelerate.
Life on Earth is not meant to be fully controlled. In a world where patience is absent, we too become disconnected from ourselves and from life. Happiness then becomes conditional, dependent on outcomes and circumstances and this is the foundation of suffering.
