Ignorance is not about what we do not know but what we think we know. In this state, curiosity fades; we cling to a single perspective, and in doing so, we close ourselves off. The moment we find ourselves fixed in one view, we enter ignorance.
At a deeper level, ignorance is a disconnection from Self. The further we drift from our true nature, the more we lose our sense of grounding. Without that inner anchor, we become easily swayed, searching for certainty and meaning outside of ourselves. Without rooting within ourselves, there is no wisdom.
Our responsibility is to remain in inquiry. If we are to support not only our own growth but that of humanity. Life loses its vitality the moment exploration ceases. All exploration begins within. Without awareness of our mental patterns, our beliefs, and our inner dynamics, our relationship with the world becomes distorted.
The practice of self-love is a courageous process and the antidote to ignorance. We are asked to stay awake and take responsibility for everything with neutrality, stability and compassion.
We are always faced with a choice: ignorance or awakening. Ignorance is restless, constantly seeking something to cling to or reject. Awakening is steady and it arises through the ongoing discovery of the self.
Remember your true nature.
