Community

The principle of community is at the core of the ecosystem we live in. The vibrancy of this planet is linked to the capacity of the plants, the trees, the animals, the sun, and the moon, to name a few, to dance together.

At the human level, a healthy community creates space for disagreements, respectful confrontations, and questions. A healthy community allows everyone to have their unique identity and their unique path. A healthy community has space for grief and struggles and does not hold secrets. A healthy community does not use fear or threat to dictate behaviors. A healthy community is based on trust, takes responsibility, and is open to change. A healthy community allows the heart to lead.

At the emotional, mental, heart, physical, and spiritual levels, a lack of community creates diseases. Within the human body, every system is interdependent. Our vitality blossoms when each particle of our being communicates with each other’s. If our mind does not embrace the principle of community, our mind creates its own reality and becomes delusional. From there, more distortions occur.

Ask yourself this simple question: what needs to shift within myself to embrace the spirit of community at a deeper and broader level?

Wishing you peace for the Holidays.

One of the greatest challenges in today’s culture is that we have forgotten what a community is. True community is not built on uniformity; it is built on authenticity.

A community is a space where each person is encouraged to connect with their true self. From that place of inner truth, we learn to dance with each other’s uniqueness. We grow by witnessing one another. We learn to love more fully, expand our awareness, and open to perspectives beyond our own.

We may bump into each other’s, experience our fears, projections, hopes, or attachments and in doing so, we heal. We stay awake and stretch our hearts wider than we ever imagined possible.

True community is rooted in diversity. If our opinions, belief systems, our tastes are exactly the same, our sense of self begins to dissolve. Belonging does not come from subscribing to an ideology, it comes from living in alignment with our truth and being accepted for it.

Nature offers us the perfect example; it thrives in diversity. As humans, it is our responsibility to build, nurture, and participate in communities. When we unplug from this essential connection, everything begins to fall apart, and human values erode.

Remember, we always have a choice.
