Celebrations reveal the identity of a culture. They offer sacred rituals that support us to open our hearts and create a shift in time where healing can occur.
Yet, too often in the world we live in, celebrations become an event where the sacred is gone; misaligned behaviors are allowed just because it is celebration day.
The process of celebration does not have to be loud or extravagant. We also don’t need to wait for a particular holiday or event to celebrate; it can be part of our daily lives.
Celebrations teach us to pause, set a clear intent, and appreciate what is. They often bring communities together and help us to look at things from a wider perspective. They remind us of where we come from and what has been accomplished. A celebration is not just a party. Healing rituals need to be present to keep us in alignment and help us acknowledge the true spirit of what is happening.
Can we re-invent our relationship with celebrations? If we do, we will develop our capacity to be humble, sensitive, intuitive, and creative.
