Stretching

Stretching is an art. It requires patience and curiosity. When we stretch, time is bent, breath goes deeper, mind shifts. If we hold too tight, we are not stretching we are forcing. The use of our will is necessary for this practice, yet the focus is to listen, not to push, and stay with some levels of discomfort. During that time, our relationship with self changes. If our mind does not get transformed during stretching, we are not stretching, we are exercising.

Often, we may look at stretching from a physical point of view. Yet, without stretching at all levels of our being we suffer; we get stiff at the physical level, reactive at the emotional level, judgmental or fearful at the mental level, and dissociated or fanatic at the spiritual level.

Stretching is a transformational and multidimensional process. It creates space and gives a voice to everything and anything within and without. From there we can live more consciously with more flexibility to embrace this chaotic world.
