Twelve years ago I was working with a therapist who was a Sikh and a kundalini yoga teacher, her name was Guru Ravi Kaur Khalsa. One day she mentioned about a kundalini yoga teacher coming to town to lead a workshop and in her detached usual way she said: ”you may like it.” As I was longing for deep personal transformation I went without hesitation.
When I arrived, I saw students seated on a sheepskin with their head covered. There was a wide diversity of people…old and young, male and female…I was taking it all in. After a couple of chants at the beginning of the class we started some series of exercises; some of them were odd and made me laugh. Our eyes were closed to stay within and be present to our own experience. Some of the exercises were physically challenging because of the repetition but very quickly I ended up experiencing my being as pure vibrant energy, invincible and free yet connected and present. As an energy healer working with energy patterns with my clients I was amazed of the sensation and the brilliance of this approach. At the end of the class I went to talk to the teacher and asked her for a daily kryia and meditation. I also mentioned that I wanted to become a teacher. She laughed and said: “ I created a bomb!”…Her name was Gurmuk Kaur Khalsa. I left the class with a sense of complete renewal… I was hooked.
Why Do I Practice Kundalini Yoga
At a very young age I was touched by anyone who committed to a spiritual practice. I explored many traditions and practiced essentially Vinyassa Yoga, Siddha Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Nichiren Buddhism and Qigong. One day I got introduced to Kundalini Yoga and at the end of my first class, I knew “I found home” and that I would become a teacher.
Every spiritual practice has unique gifts to offer. Kundalini Yoga has this no BS essence in it that fits my style. It has been called the Yoga of Awareness. This practice helps you break unnecessary patterns, take responsibility for one self, develop your intuition and support you to go through any layers of confusion, worries, anxiety or depression to connect to your true essence. In fact in the seventies, there were a lot of centers that used the technology of Kundalini Yoga to help people with drug addiction. It is a “cut the crap” practice …whatever the crap of the day maybe.
After ten years of teaching students and future teachers, I am always amazed of the efficiency of this practice. The transformation one goes through is a gift to witness. It brings simplicity clarity energy and inner stability in one’s life and from that place true happiness can emerge.
Now this practice touches me. I experience very quickly energetic shifts and a sense of expansion that I never came close to before. Often it will bring in me energy and pleasure and at time old emotions of anger or anxiety will come up to be cleared. One thing is sure; the practice of Kundalini Yoga has been my best teacher to love myself deeper than ever before.
Every culture has its own tradition. If we look at death in China people buy their coffins before they die and put it in a place where everyone can admire the luxury of it. In America, death is still taboo and we are doing everything we can without clarity to avoid aging or simply dying.
How do you say goodbye when it is time to let go of painful situations? For years I used to say goodbye by slamming the door with a lot of conviction stating how much I was right and how much “they” were wrong. We all know that never works: I was not able to deeply learn and surrender and in this process I was not able to say goodbye.
Saying goodbye is a vital skill that needs to be learned particularly in the time of uncertainty we live in. What do you want to say goodbye to in your life? Is it a person, a behavior, a thought? When you choose to say goodbye you truly grow from within.
If you say goodbye to some habits, a good amount of focus and determination are not going to be the answer. Your focus has to be towards your desires not your will. How clear and strong your desire is?
If you say goodbye to a person you need to allow your emotional body to go through its convulsion and commotion. That is the first stage of any transformation and each time you dismiss it you will prevent any healing to happen.
The culture we live in does not teach you how to say goodbye. If you go on a business trip you text before you take off, you text when you land, you text when you check in your hotel….and it keeps on going.
Saying goodbye is not rejecting, reacting, accusing or blaming, it is a healthy way of living…not always easy but it will bring you closer to your own truth and to your heart, closer to your spiritual dimension.
Be curious and explore…What and or who do you need to say goodbye to?
First write down a list and then connect to the clarity of your desires for each item. In some situations the fear may be to overwhelming and you may not be ready to take actions yet invite consciously your intent and trust that at some point you it will reach a level of simplicity.
With much love,

Every one has heard that sentence before and right there lays some ancient knowledge about the power of breath. Each time you change your breathing you change your thought patterns and with this your feelings. Any yoga practice includes conscious breathing to help you stay present to your inner experience and prevent your mind to run your life.
The practice of yoga started approximately 5000 years ago and its intent was to yoke/bring together the mind, body and spirit. Many schools of yoga emerged then focusing on different aspects. Patanjali (200/800 AD) was interested in creating a system that embraced all the different forms of yoga. He organized and codified into a system of 195 sutras the different knowledge approaches and philosophies. In this system he describes the eight limbs of yoga, which are essential for a yoga practice.
One of the limbs is called Pranayam, which is the ability to control the movement of Prana through breathing techniques. Prana means life force and Ayam means expansion. Pranayama is energy management. By practicing different breath techniques you develop your Prana and therefore promote your health, vitality and intuition.
There are many breath patterns from many spiritual traditions that create a very specific impact on your being. Do you want to develop your intuition? There is a breath for that. Do you want to reduce your anxiety? There is a breath for that. Do you want to develop your focus? There is a breath for that. In fact there are many breath patterns for the three mentioned above.
Most people breathe too shallow at a rhythm of fourteen times a minute, which does not bring a lot of vitality or stability of the mind. When you breathe eight times per minute you feel more relaxed. If you breathe four times a minute you increase your awareness and if you breathe one time a minute you develop dramatically your intuition.
Your breath gives you a glow. In fact the yogis used to say that your attraction factor is your Prana, therefore your breath. Do you want more glow in your life then come to Miraval and dive into the many practices of yoga you will be glad you did!
In my 30 years of working with thousands of men and women I have noticed that most people misunderstand forgiveness.
The forgiveness process is a healing method to help you release old pains you are holding onto. The biggest obstacle lies in your attachment to the outcome. Too often you get so caught up in wanting to make the situation better that you skip the crucial phase of the forgiveness process, which is focusing on what hurts.
We don’t know how to connect to our pain. We live in an environment that promotes running away from pain. The amount of drugs available to relieve physical or emotional pain is humongous. The list of distractions to never experience our own feelings and thoughts is endless. By running away from our own pain we simply don’t know who we are, we have no identity. From there nothing can happen.
The common resistances to focusing on what hurts are:
“If I connect to my pain I will hurt more” or “I need to stay positive I don’t want to dwell in the negative”.
In these above statements, there is no heart connection, just an ego or mind connection. When you connect to your pain from the heart center you heal and grow.
What will it take for you to feel more connected at the heart center? Journaling is often an insightful process. The following is an exercise:
Everyday for three minutes or so list your pains (physical, emotional, heart or spiritual) without analyzing them, just write them down. Depending on the amount of healing work and personal process work you have already done, this process can take ten days or six months. For each of you it will be unique but if you trust the process, you will be able to drop in a place of neutrality where you become curious; that is the sacred space of the heart center.
If you want to truly forgive you need to connect to your pain. There is simply no shortcut. Trust this process if you want to feel more vibrant in your life.

Many generations, countries, families and organizations have fought for what they consider “the truth” in life. Under the name of truth, it has been acceptable to kill, reject, punish or abuse in many styles. But really the truth at the end of the day is just an opinion that you are holding onto really tight. What is true for you one day may not be true for you later in the year.
The day we choose to release the truth as the way to be, then becomes the day we start to practice humility…perhaps one of the most beautiful qualities one human being can experience.
Humility is the art of letting go and letting the ego go. As a healer I have been working for over 20 years helping people who are going through a diverse range of pain: cancer, leukemia, back pain, heart break, spiritual pain, etc. Even if I have a passionate style of working and sharing what I receive, I know what I don’t know. I know that the healing process is so complex that I cannot even pretend that I have “the answer”. Yet like all of us I need to practice humility.
Humility does not mean making yourself smaller. In fact, we came on earth to shine, share our gifts and that takes courage, patience and humility.
Humility means staying present and curious to your own experience.
How can we practice humility?
Start with setting back instead of jumping into conclusions and assumptions. Become aware of your inner experience throughout your whole body. Every day for three minutes close your eyes and do a body scan, a check in; give a voice to your sensations, emotions and flows of energy instead of your opinions. You will appreciate your wisdom knowing that the most important thing in life is not to understand each other but to experience each other.
Last week I was asked to write an article with 200 words or less about the following question: “What is the meaning of life?”
And as we keep experiencing lots of crisis’ on this planet I invite you to journal on this question. The more clarity you have about your value system and your presence on earth, the easier it will be to create inner peace. From that place where you don’t react, but you make choices.
Meaning, it is an experience that comes from your heart not from your head. Your head does not experience anything but carries a lot of labels about everything; your heart stays present in the moment and open. When you experience a loss you have more chance to drop in the heart versus when you gain something. When you lose a loved one, your youth, a job, etc. you have an opportunity to sit back and decide what is meaningful and what is not. When you are on the “gain train” without many experiences of losses you are more in your head than in your heart. If you want to know what is the meaning of life go back to the time of loss.
Everyone has to decide for themselves what the meaning of life is. Regardless on how we want to express it on a daily basis, we all need to apply the basic campground rules for planet Earth and the Universe: “Leave this site in a better place than you have found it” and “Leave this planet in a better place than you have found it”.
Raise your vibration and the vibration of the planet daily.
With much love,

This past week during one of my workshops a young man who has three children raised his hand and asked me: “How can I be a perfect dad?” I was touched by this beautiful question as I could hear the purity of his intent… Bill wanted to be the best he could be for his kids. Yet I don’t believe we need to be or to follow a role model anymore; we need love.
We don’t need to be driven by perfection we need to be aligned with our heart. It is a different form of discipline that focuses more on listening and receiving than constantly showing the way and telling what is right or wrong. This discipline makes us shift from the ego to the heart.
- Your ego is driven by perfection; your heart is guided by connection.
- Your ego convinces; your heart inspires.
- Your ego strategizes; your heart has insights.
- Your ego dictates; your heart learns.
- Your ego avoids pain at any price; your heart connects to your pain and grows.
- Your ego is driven by fear and threat; your heart trusts.
- Your ego compares; your heart invites.
- Your ego anticipates; your heart lives in the moment.
- Your ego cannot be alone by itself; your heart loves to be with you.
- Your ego denies what could be uncomfortable; your heart faces everything.
- Your ego believes in impressing others; your heart believes in truth.
- Your ego makes you believe you act from the heart; your heart recognizes your ego.
In the time of crisis and uncertainty we are living in, we need to develop our “Thouness”, our ability to stay in the heart where we truly experience a sense of belonging and deep connection. In the heart we stay still, still with our pain, still with our limitations and still with our hopes. What would happen if this planet became stiller?
Choose one of the statements above that speaks to you and decide for 40 days to make that shift. Journal a few minutes a day and first assess your misalignments. Stay compassionate with your miss alignments. You cannot grow if you don’t practice self-love.

If you want to experience the best adventure of your life, never leave home.
Living an adventurous life is not automatically about traveling, meeting new people or doing new things. Perhaps the most adventurous way of living is about finding home and staying home.
Where is home and what is home for you?
We know it may not have anything to do with your biological history. But really what feels like home? And what are the qualities that you want to experience when you are at home?
If I had to choose three, I would pick: Nourishment, Peace and Beauty. And each time I compromise any of these three qualities in my daily life, I compromise myself.
When these three are in place I can relax experience simplicity and gratefulness.
Choose three qualities that feel like coming home for you and from there, decide day by day what do you need to create to match these three vibrations. As soon as you feel at home you are dropping into the heart center where everything unfolds. From that place you can see, feel, intuit and manifest what you truly desire. Your heart is your foundation for everything in life but you have to be willing to stay still at home and experience yourself.
To enhance your ability to stay at home, I invite you to do the mirror meditation. It will help you shift from your head to your heart.
Simply sit in front of a mirror and look at yourself for 3 to 5 minutes. Do it every day for 40 days in a row. The mirror can be a hand-held mirror. Stay present to your relationship with you. You may first focus on your flaws, then you may get bored with yourself, then you may focus on what you like about you. Eventually, you will connect to you, you will be in love with you, you will be still where there is nothing to like or dislike about who you are.
As you are practicing true love, you will be at home wherever you go and really create the best life ever.
When I was little, I always had mix feelings about the Holiday Season. I was excited about the “stuff” I was going to get and at the same time so disappointed about the lack of connection, the lack of love. I felt empty, meaningless and was reminded of this constant existential pain I was born with.
In my teens, at this time of the year, I was dragging my feet shutting down and watching the family scene holding lots of judgments. In my twenties, I chose to simply dismiss myself from most family gatherings and was then taking the time for personal self-care such as reading, painting and playing music. In my thirties, I moved to the USA and was surprised by the length of the holiday season starting with the famous Thanksgiving. I learned one year at a time to relax a little more during that period of celebration and embrace it. I also chose to share my gifts as a teacher and a healer. Every year, I love to work part of Thanksgiving day to stay center.
My wish for the Holidays is that all of us can stay true to we you are. We are born with a lineage and a destiny and I do believe that if we take care of our destiny first our lineage will be taking care off. Open yourself to new ways of celebrating, mix traditions and create new rituals that help your heart to heal and open.
I have chosen a healing meditation easy for everyone to do. Your child or your grandmother can do it. Share this gift with many. Meditation is an act of self-love. In this time of chaos, your soul is your biggest ally. No one can kill your soul; no one can threaten your soul.
“You have the right to create harmony and you have the right to create crisis, nobody creates them for you. (…) There is just one way to get out, and that is to grow.” YBJ
Emergency Kits are usually used when you are in some form of crisis. And when you are, you may experience the following with your kit: some products are obsolete, you don’t know how to use them and you don’t have what you need in it. In brief, you have not prepared yourself for challenging situations.
In school, nobody taught you how to fail; everybody wanted you to succeed whatever that meant. When you focus on making the right decision you put lots of pressure on yourself and build up an ideal image of who you think you should be. Your ego is now running your life and you learn absolutely nothing.
The only place we can learn from is the heart. The only place we can grow from is the heart. Making the so-called wrong decision, getting an undesirable outcome, or experiencing deep pain are situations we all face. In life the most important aspect is not making the right decision but instead mastering bouncing back.
The holiday season always brings a myriad of emotions in each of us. Depending on your history you may experience more joy than pain and yet if you are really connected to yourself some memories will make you smile and some will make you cry. There will be hope, disappointment, gratefulness, excitement, pure joy and deep sadness. If we choose to welcome the diversity of our experience without getting locked into one them we are fine.
During this time of connection and reconnection with others choose also to enhance a reconnection with yourself. Enjoy the adventure of you.
To support you in this process I am giving you a special meditation:

Wishing inner peace for the Holiday Season
“Those who know do not need to get rid of darkness; they simply need to light a lamp.” ~ Osho
Most of our misaligned behaviors, perhaps all of them, come from a place of fear. If we are called to create inner peace and experience true love in our life, we need to be curious about that part of us.
Are you willing to experience your fears in a new way? Are you willing to sit with your fears, connect to the essence of them, taste them, smell them and see them?
If you want to experience true happiness, you need to be still with your fears. In this quiet space you can hear, listen, receive and learn from them. Once you can experience your fears without running away, you can transform yourself and experience the depth of love.
Fear and love are part of the same polarity. How deep you can connect with your fears will reflect how deep you can love. There are many exercises to help you explore your relationship with your fears and deepen your ability to love.
I suggest you journal on this two questions for a minimum of ten days:
- What is your biggest fear?
- What do you do to avoid it? Be curious. You may not know right away what is your biggest fear. Notice how much energy you spend on avoiding experiencing this particular fear and how much you step away from your authentic self when you do this. Once you are at peace with your fears, you are at peace with everything else in your life and then everything is possible.

As I am on my way to experience the well renowned healer “John of God” in Brazil, I have taken quite some time clarifying the true intent of this coming trip. John of God is well known for the miracle healings many have received in his presence and so… I wonder …what is a miracle? What does it take to create miracles in life?
It takes the ability to surrender. When we surrender we are engaged, we are not passive. We are co creating with this vast universe and beyond. When we surrender we choose to drop our fixed images of what we want; we give a voice to our desires and yet we are willing to be spacious, not attached to an end results.
This month, be curious about your desires and be curious about your expectations.
Are your desires coming from a place of fear or from your essence? For example, do you want to be in a relationship because you are afraid of being alone or because you want to learn to live more in the heart?
With each desire, notice some of your attachments and realize how they prevent you from creating your miracles. Write down your attachments every day, 3-5 minutes a day to give yourself a chance to co create miracles.
Do you want to develop your ability to create miracles in your life?

For many years I have been addicted to pain one way or another. In the womb of my mother I recall myself saying: “It is not going to be easy”. It ended up being pretty accurate as my childhood was a blend of sexual abuse and lies from my father’s side, mixed with severe depression and an ongoing attachment from my mother’s side to die.
Nevertheless there were also good elements; both my parents had artistic talents, boys and girls were treated the same and physical health (nutrition and physical activities) were always a priority. Having said that, love was simply not there.
For years in many of my relationships I was choosing my partners based on their pain instead of their essence.
During the first 33 years of my life I thought I would either commit suicide or end up in a psychiatric hospital. At work I was always taking on the most challenging responsibilities; I did not know the word ease.
It took me a while to allow myself to be free of pain and shine in the world.
As I have given coaching and healing sessions for the past 30 years to thousand of people all over the world, I know that pain is where magic can occur. The magic of transformation and healing is not about avoiding pain, it is about creating a new relationship with pain.
Come join me, Thursday August 6th at 6pm. Together we will learn and practice six different approaches to help you change your relationship with pain and gain tremendous insights for a renewed Self.
If you cannot make it, the session will be recorded.
I was reading a book this weekend about a friend of mine Janice, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2010. Today she is still active touching so many yet experiencing a new chemo treatment. I witness her beautiful and relentless spirit, her untouchable focus and ability to be so grateful day after day.
I also have two of my clients Carolyn and Laura going through major diseases; both have the same ability to celebrate in their unique style any victory they have.
These three women have mastered their relationship with pain. Janice has a foundation and she teaches; uplifting so many and bringing awareness about cancer prevention. Carolyn who is still in the early stages of treatment for Leukemia is at the hospital and blogs. Her insights about surrendering and being a spiritual warrior are priceless. Laura is experiencing multiple forms of cancer and is too weak these days to do much of anything but she focuses on gratefulness with so much depth. These three women rely on two things: their heart and their spirit.
Most of us when we go through any pain we go into more fear, worries, anxiety and we jump into the future saying to ourselves: “When is it going to end?” As I am doing some renovation in my house and experiencing an on going mess, I have asked that question more than once. When I went through a break up last October I wondered many times when the pain will end.
Our pain always gives us an opportunity to grow. We can pretend there is no pain and find a way to numb it. We can be busier, drink a little more, jump into a new relationship, or collapse and be depressed. Quite frankly there are many more options.
We can blame or we can learn. We can ignore it or we can grow through it. When you master how you relate to your pain you deepen your experience with joy. Choose to drop your thinking, step back from your emotions and go into the heart.
The heart is the only place that will teach you how to be still and present when you are in pain.
When you are worrying about your future you are not in the heart. As Janice was saying in her book*, “NOW spelled backwards is WON…if you stay in the now, you’ve won the day”.
When you are obsessing on how to get rid of your pain you are not in the heart, you are in your head. Your pain is not a problem to be fixed but a part of you to be explored.
Join me August 6th , at 6 pm Pacific. I will lead a virtual healing circle to help you experience the wisdom of your heart.
For an hour you will:
– Learn three specific meditations to help you be in the heart
– Experience healing processes to feel peace and release any agitations coming from your mind
– Understand your unique style and discover specific ways to embrace your pain and get insights
This is a time for transformation!
Join me August 6th at 6PM Pacific. Together our healing power is stronger. If you cannot make the call, this session is recorded.
As long as I remember, I have lived on and off with anxiety. As a little kid, I used to ask myself “What is my life purpose?”. I did not wait 18 years to be curious about this; I was 6 or 7 when this question haunted me. I never felt a deep connection with my family of origin and I kept seeking for happiness and meaning.
In this constant search, I experienced a lot of pain and I struggled with the idea of living in a human body. Many times I wished to be a pure spirit being filled with a sense of wholeness and fulfillment. In this constant search, I felt deeply isolated inside, different from everyone else and questioning what was wrong with me? It felt to me that I was born with some kind of fault and I had to find a way to compensate. Yet, despite my ongoing suffering, I never stopped hoping.
Today I am so grateful to have found my purpose and be a catalyst for healing, transformation and inspiration. Today I am so grateful that I can serve in a way that uplifts me. Yet, my anxiety still comes and goes. As I have been working with thousands of people for the past 30 years, I witness how so many of you suffer with anxiety.
When we are in that place of pain, we loose our guiding system, we disconnect from the heart and we create a split within us. The only way we can feel radiant, vibrant and fulfilled is when we experience wholeness, when we feel we are enough. At that moment, we are connected to everything on earth and in the universe.
If you resonate with what I am sharing then join me May 7th at 6PM Pacific Time.
I have created a virtual healing circle to help you free yourself from anxiety.
During this hour together your will:
- Learn and practice three specific short meditations to help you release your anxiety
- Understand your character structure related to anxiety and create processes to support you on your healing journey
- Receive insights from me during our Q&A time
Click here to learn more about our upcoming class: How To Free Ourselves From Anxiety
When we come together, we heal faster and deeper. The session will be recorded.
With much love,
Every change you truly desire starts at the heart center. Your will or your mindset may be useful to support any transition you want to create in your life, but without the heart energy the changes you are making will feel stressful or will not last.
There are two important practices that enhance the energy of the heart: gratefulness and forgiveness. All of us can gain to deepen our relationship with both. When we experience our heart energy, we live in the present and are open to receive intuitive guidance.
Over the past 25 years I have witnessed with my clients a lot of pain, struggle and confusion around the theme of forgiveness. I often notice a genuine desire to forgive and yet the feelings of resentment, anger and confusion are still present. We know that when we truly forgive we feel free, spacious and ready to reinvent our lives.
- We will practice several meditations to expand the energy of the heart
- You will learn the 3 stages toward true forgiveness
- I will work with you, (during our Q&A), and share insights and healing to support you on your journey
Let’s create a beautiful time and bring our energy together for healing.
As we enter into a new year, we enter into a new frequency of energy. We have the opportunity to open up to a new level of awareness where we can see our patterns and experience our Self from a new perspective. A new frequency of energy gives us the opportunity to expand and reach new levels of joy.
This renewed self-expression requires healing. Without healing you will go into la-la land, driven by your stories and ungrounded.
What are you choosing to heal at this time? What part of you are you choosing to hold in stillness? How can you connect to the divine self within you? How can you stay connected to your true essence? How can you hold your duality, your fears, your hope and your despairs without trying to solve them or fix them? How can you trust the healing power of your soul energy?
When we choose the path of healing we choose radical truth.
If you are truly interested in self-renewal then start there. Remember that who you are is energy and simply be willing to look at your behavioral patterns. Do not go sideways into any context and or why you acted this way or that way. Look at you, your actions your reactions and your communication.
- What do I wish people knew about me?
- What do I wish people never discovered about me?
- What are my recurrent ways of acting (my patterns)?
- What are the fears and/or the needs that are driving my behavior?
My suggestion is to work with someone who can hold you with love and clarity. When you surrender to that level of truth then you will create joyful breakthrough in your life.
Rejoice and renew! Schedule a free 15 minutes discovery session with me!
The Holidays season often brings a myriad of emotions and memories. Some of them may be uplifting while others may be painful. Whether you are choosing to celebrate the Holidays or not, you cannot ignore them …It is “in the air”, it is part of the big energy field we are living in and therefore it impacts us.
How do you choose to celebrate this year? How do you choose to connect and relate to each others? Who do you need to forgive? What do you need to take responsibility for? How do you want to reach out from a place of truth?
This year, take this opportunity to truly transform yourself. Celebrations are always a rite of passage, an opportunity to reinvent who we are and let go of what does not serve you anymore.
To support you on your journey, I am inviting you to create a new habit for 40 days in a row and do a meditation with me.
Start November 24th and then decide after 40 days if you want to keep going but first choose to commit for 40 days.
What I know about this meditation is that it will heal and strengthen your nervous system. Your nervous system plays a big role in your emotions and thoughts. When this system is out of balance you are reactive, angry, depressed, worried, agitated and tired. When this system is strong and balanced you feel centered, aligned, and connected.
The decisions you are making come from a place of choice instead of a place of reaction.
Watch this video about the meditation.
If you choose to do it, share with me your experience and your questions.
I have much love and appreciation for each of you to be part of my life, Thank You, Thank You!
Self-transformation is an ongoing process necessary if you want to be happy, holy and healthy. It is important to incorporate this dimension in our lives when things are going pretty well instead of when we hit a wall. Our cells renew constantly, why don’t we?
The golden key to self-transformation is Self-Love. But are we ready to look at it closely? Self- Love is by essence a destructive process. We are accepting the fact that we may need to tear apart, deconstruct some of our attachments about life, and let go of who we think we need to be. Self-love is saying yes to life and yes to death; it is a constant rebirthing process.
The biggest block to Self-Love is the intensity of our emotions. Anger, fear, judgments or anxiety to name a few are powerful obstacles to reinvent ourselves.
Here are a few examples:
- Paul is extremely creative and in many ways brilliant. Yet he has been unable to make some important shifts in his business because of a major anxiety about separation.
- Jina is a very successful lawyer and has been experiencing terror perhaps all her life. It is very difficult to trust and everything in her life feels very stiff. There is a deep lack of joy.
For Paul and Jina, the process to gain Self-Love has to be multidimensional (energy healing, sacred geometry, breath, writing exercises, etc.) to move beyond the emotional block and feel safe enough to make decisions that support their true essence.
It does not have to take years. Paul contacted a lawyer within a week of working together to explore the next steps regarding his business. Jina within a few months was able to embrace her daughter’s dream despite the fact that it did not make sense to her.

In life, we make many compromises. Some of them we are at peace with. For example, the car I bought was not my color of choice, but it was a good deal financially. I sometimes work late to accommodate a client and I am in harmony with this.
At times, the compromises we are making are truly killing us. The following are true stories from my practice (the names have been changed):
- Ann has stopped going to her art class because she finishes late at work everyday.
- Peter has a new born baby and a second one coming soon. He had let go of his own business and has chosen to work in a company that pays good money but is not a great fit for him.
- Ella ‘s husband is a volunteer sport coach for the past 6 years. Ella carries all the financial responsibility of the family since then.
- Andrew loves musical theater but has chosen for the past two years to work for a software company.
Four true stories. Four out of these four people are exhausted, depressed, confused and some of them on medication to manage their anxiety. What happened?
They have one thing in common; they have compromised their deepest longing.
Ann is afraid to be rejected and is the only one working late; she has lost her vitality. Peter has been afraid to not make enough money and since he started working for someone else, he has been sick for the past year. Ella is putting on a lot of weight and is terrified to ask her husband to get a paid job as she believes he will leave her. Andrew has created a very structured life that looks successful on the surface but deep inside he feels empty and isolated.
Each time you compromise your deepest desire, you loose your life force. And from there, you create a negative momentum: your mind takes over trying to figure out a way to deal with everything and you get deeper into a black hole.
Why did they give up their desires? Because they did not know how to get there.
When you don’t know how to get somewhere, you listen to your fears instead of listening to your heart and soul. In most cases, you will literally become sick. What you need to focus on is your desire and only the first step to get there. Let go of creating an action plan, it will prevent you from moving forward.
